Post Brexit UK Visa budgets not considered by UK businesses
Sanwar Ali workpermit.com comment:
Many UK businesses are applying for Tier 2 Sponsor Licences in preparation for Brexit (if it ever happens!). However, many are also unprepared. Applying for a Tier 2 Sponsor Licence can be a time consuming and complicated process. If employers wish to employ someone on a Tier 2 visa not already having a Sponsor Licence can cause considerable delay.
The majority of UK businesses are severely unprepared for hiring foreign talent after Brexit, according to new research. With strict UK immigration rules anticipated for EU nationals once Britain leaves the bloc, access to skilled workers from overseas will be heavily restricted.
UK innovator visa for entrepreneurs open for applications
The UK Innovator visa scheme is very new. So there are a number of uncertainties about what will happen in practice. How difficult will it be to obtain an endorsement from an endorsing body? How long will it take to obtain an Innovator visa? We understand that currently only some of the endorsing bodies are ready to accept applications for endorsement from new applicants.
If this visa scheme is so difficult to obtain will it actually help bring in that many of the type of entrepreneurs that the Government says they are looking for. In one respect it may be easier. You only need to invest £50,000. In most cases under the Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa scheme you need to have invested £200,000.
US H1B visa lottery cap season quota for 2020 reached
It remains the case that in the US in many cases it is extremely difficult to bring in migrant workers. The H1B quota of 85,000 is far too small for such a large Country. The L1 visa is very difficult to obtain. The E2 Treaty Investor visa and E1 Treaty Trader visa is not available for Indian and Chinese nationals. This is surely bad for the US economy and also Donald Trump’s businesses!
On April 5, the 65,000 H1B visa limit for the 2020 financial year was reached within five days, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced. USCIS reported a five percent increase in the number of applications compared with the previous year. The number of applications had been slightly down in the past two years.
US visa and immigration Czar wanted by Donald Trump
Donald Trump wants to recruit a US visa and immigration czar to coordinate US immigration policy across several federal agencies, according to sources close to the US President. Trump is apparently considering two potential candidates for the post, understood to be former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
According to anonymous sources, private conversations held by Trump and his officials involved discussions over hiring an immigration czar to enforce the President’s hardline policies. Details of the discussions have been disclosed anonymously because sources have not been authorized to share Trump’s plans to hire a czar, publicly.
