workpermit.com Review of US Visa for businessmen
There are a number of US visa schemes available to start a business in the US. While it is difficult and complicated to obtain many of these visas, the costs in many cases may be lower than you might expect.
E2 Visa for Treaty Investors
The investment necessary to qualify for E2 visa Treaty Investor status varies and there is no set minimum. For consultancy businesses, for example software businesses, this could be tens of thousands of dollars or less in some cases. However, for smaller investments to register the business as an E2 business can be more difficult.
Theresa May’s Brexit deal rejected over UK visa policy
There is still some degree of uncertainty over future UK visa policy after Brexit occurs. However, will Brexit ever happen? Even if it does happen it may be delayed for some time. Nigel Farage the former leader of UKIP has recently announced that "Leave" supporters should prepare for a second referundum.
It could be a long time before many of the new UK visa policies will be put into place. A system similar to the current Tier 2 Sponsor Licence and Tier 2 visa system is likely to be around for a long time yet even if Brexit does eventually happen.
UK MPs overwhelmingly rejected Theresa May’s Brexit deal following the result of a vote announced on 15 January, in a crushing defeat for the government. However, the Prime Minister did survive a second vote of no confidence, orchestrated by the Labour Party. Mrs May had faced a similar vote, instigated by members of her own Party, before Christmas.
US visa overstays, Trump border wall and US Govt. shutdown
Amid Trump’s partial shutdown of the US government in a row over funding for his anti-immigrant border wall, a new study has found that US visa overstays have far exceeded illegal border crossings for a seventh consecutive year.
Sanwar Ali workpermit.com comment:
The US Government shutdown due to disagreement over the funding of the border wall seems to be affecting US visa applications as well. For weeks it seems to be very difficult completing the online DS-160 non-immigrant visa form. There seems to be a number of technical problems. You need to complete this form if you need a non-immigrant visa appointment. So if you do want an appointment at the US Embassy at the moment you may be able to obtain an appointment very quickly. Important work based non-immigrant visas include the L1 visa, E2 visa, E1 visa, H1B visa and B1 in lieu of H1B visa.
Workpermit.com Review of UK Visa Reports by Sanwar Ali
2018 saw a number of changes in the UK Visa system:
• We saw what turned out to be the worst Tier 2 visa shortage ever for employers wishing to bring in employees resident outside the EEA.
• It was announced that the Immigration Health Surcharge would double.
• The Brexit white paper was published recently.
• It became easier for Tier 4 visastudents to switch to a Tier 2 visa
• It was announced that the Tier 1 Investor scheme would be suspended. However, this did not happen.
• The Windrush scandal was a huge scandal that exposed discriminatory practices at the Home Office.
