The Home Office has announced further delays in processing HSMP applications, due to an unexpected increase in the number of HSMP applications received.
The HSMP Team has asked all applicants to refrain from calling, e-mailing and faxing with enquiries that are not of the "utmost urgency" and only if your application was sent to the Team before February 2004.
HSMP applications can only be considered on an urgent basis if you have an offer of employment in the UK. If you have a job offer you should fax this to the HSMP team with a covering letter, but the case will only be given urgent consideration if it has been with the HSMP team for at least six weeks.
It is important to note that it is no longer necessary to send your passport along with your HSMP application. Your passport should now only be submitted together with form FLR(IED) once you have been notified of HSMP approval in writing.
The HSMP team is currently processing applications received on the 6 March 2004.
