The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship is continuing its outreach program this month with planned events in the New England and Queensland region to discuss immigration issues and explain the skilled migration visa and immigration system to employers and Subclass 457 visa holders.
According the press release, both events will focus on employer-sponsored visa options for skilled workers, including the regional sponsored migration scheme and provide updates on recent changes to the skilled migration program.
Additionally, employers can learn about how to become an approved sponsor under the subclass 457 visa program.
"The department particularly wants to encourage people who have been residents of Australia for a long time to consider taking the final step in their immigration journey by becoming an Australian citizen," said a departmental spokesman.

Appointments can be made with Immigration officials in New England from 15 November - 18 November. Formal community meetings are planned in Gladstone for 16 November and 17 November and Rockhampton for 14 November and 15 November.
