O-2 Support staff
This category allows assistants and support staff of O-1A and O-1B visa holders to enter the US in order to support their work. The O-2 only applies to O-1A visa holders who have exceptional ability in athletics/sports (not the sciences, education, or business).
Offer of employment
O-2 visa applicants must plan to work with an O-1A or O-1B visa holder in the US.
Criteria
There are 6 criteria for the O-2 visa. Applicants must meet all of these for their visa to be granted.
Evidence of all 6 of the following is required:
That you are essential to the work of the O-1A or O-1B visa holder in the US
That you have substantial experience in your field of work
That your role cannot be performed to the required standard by a US worker
For film and television productions it must be shown that a significant amount of work on the production has already taken place outside of the US AND;
That you were involved in this work AND;
That your continued involvement is necessary for the production to be completed
