A French work permit application must usually be made by an established French company. The French company is required to sign a direct employment contract with the candidate and to take on responsibility for all tax and social security matters. International companies can also obtain certain work permits to transfer their employees to their French offices and/or subsidiary companies, but the application must still be made by the office in France.
